AIX System Administrator

Main role

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM AIX servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Install, configure and manage IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM MQ, including HA and DR configurations.
• Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement performance enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
• Perform routine system backups and recovery procedures; ensure system security by applying best practices and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
• Provide on-call support and respond to system emergencies; document system configurations, procedures and changes.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3-5 years of proven hands-on experience as an IBM AIX System Administrator.
• Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM MQ in single and HA mode, and with IBM Storage.
• Strong knowledge of IBM Power Servers and AIX administration including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
